The Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet is capable of lopping off quite large branches or splitting small logs for the campfire. It's a traditional scouting and camping axe, with the same head as the Hand Hatchet, but on a longer handle. The longer handle on the Wildlife Hatchet lends the axe more power, not least when felling trees.

The Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet is practical for carrying in your rucksack when you need a small axe with plenty of power. The shape of the sheath, which covers the edge and the top part of the poll, stops the axe head cutting into your rucksack.

wonderful tool, super fast shipping.
Came nice and sharp, sheath fits well and tight. I like the feel of the handle and that it just has the lindseed and wax finish. It can do some pretty heavy work for being so small, I am able to use it for chopping and splitting, if you really wanted to you could take down big trees with it just because it is so sharp and digs in so well. I will probably use it the most for carving and backpacking/travel. It's quite light and is comfortable to use choked up on for long periods so I think it's best for those aplications. Would make a awesome first hatchet for a youngster.

The axe is fine it was delivered quickly but the sheath has a big cut in it and I'm sure it didn't come from the forgery that way
Wonderful quality
It is really hard to describe the quality of this axe until I held it in my hand. It is extremely comfortable. The sharpness that came from the manufacturer is hair shaving sharp. I typically like to put my own edge on every knife and axe that I bought. I left this one alone since the edge is already super sharp. All I did was strop it on a piece of leather. The quality is so great I bought another Transfers Bruk axe.
