The Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe is excellent for felling trees and limbing. It's the same size as the Hunter's Axe but with a more traditional pattern and poll. The blade is thin, and the handle is long enough to allow powerful chopping. The Small Forest Axe is practical for splitting small sticks for the fire or cutting small-diameter limbwood for starter fuel in a fireplace.

Perfect pack axe
Can't say enough about the axe. At this point all I can really judge is the quality of the axe upon arrival with some limited use, but this thing lives up to all the hype in fit finish, with an edge that is literally razor sharp. Well pleased to say the least. Can't understand how some rave over it yet give it 3 stars.

The Gransfors Bruk s Small Forest axe is an excellent small axe and was everything I dreamed it would be. It is the perfect size and is a great camping, hiking, backpacking or around the house axe. The quality of this axe is top notch and well worth the price. The grain orientation on the handle was perfect. Don't waste anymore time looking around, I did and stopped here. Great service, best price, no S&H added on like all the other places. I am very happy with the craftsmanship and it's usage. Could probably shave with it, the length/size/handle make it a pleasure to use, has a natural one handed grip; it can be used on larger than expected trees too. It'll be passed on to family.

I have wanted a Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe for what seems like forever. I had been using a small old Craftsman Axe for years. It was okay but not close to how great the GB Small Forest Axe is. It is such a well designed and high quality tool that I am sorry I waited so long to buy it. The feel, comfort and ease of use are perfect. Came razor sharp. That handle is as good as it gets. This thing is easily 5 stars.

Wow!! The quality!!
Unbelievable ax! The edge is like a super sharp knife you can whittle with. The overall quality of this is just amazing, like a work of art really. Guys, us working class folks cant always afford the best of all things , like cars or watches. This may not be a Rolls Royce or a Rolex, but it is a Gransfors Bruks, and we can afford one. Take the plunge and splurge. You will never regret it.
