We always take customer requests and advice seriously so looked into it. Slip 2000 was first developed as a non-toxic environmentally friendly weapons lube for military use. It will clean, lubricate and prevent rust over a long period of time, all in one product. Although environmentally friendly products often turn out to be less effective, Slip 2000 has turned out to be excellent. Some web research into the product shows it is highly regarded by competitive shooters and serious gun enthusiasts. We ordered a bottle from an online gunshop to try out. We were thoroughly impressed. The lube seems to work everywhere it is used, and better than anything else I have ever used. Its rust protection on bare steel over a 2 week period was 100%. I talked to the Slip 2000 people and asked a lot of questions. It is considered safe to have continued repeated contact with your skin, it does not contain PTFE or other harmful compounds. I specifically asked about using it on knife blades that might be used to cut food and they assured me this was not a concern. (No known issues in the first place and only trace amounts would be consumed in this type of use). Due to past health issues in my family I am cautious about consuming any amount of anything that was not recently alive in one form or another. They recommend the lube for about anything, paintball, fishing reels, bikes etc. In my testing I discovered the lube does not attract dust like standard oils and other lubes do. If dirt comes in contact with the lubed surface it doesn’t get trapped in the lube like most, the dirt may absorb some lube, but falls away much more easily then with other lubes. Try this on anything that needs lube; you’ll be impressed too. For your axe and other blades rub it on, work it in a bit and wipe it off, the protection remains.
